New Year, New Start, No Excuses …

FRIDAY 31st JANUARY 2014

A belated Happy New Year to you all, I’m only just short of a month late!

Now that the Christmas, New Year and my 30th birthday celebrations are out the way (it was pointless participating in Dry January since I celebrated being thirty over the space of three weeks) I can now resume my focus to one of the things that I love in life: Writing.

Turning thirty and all it's celebrations prevented me from writing ...

Turning thirty and all it’s celebrations prevented me from writing …

To be honest, I have not put pen to paper since I attempted NaNoWriMo in November last year ( note the word attempted. I intend to be more prepared for the 2014 one and actually complete it this time.) The change in my shift pattern, moving and decorating a house (still in progress), visiting family and all the celebrations in-between are the excuses that I am using for my lack of commitment over the past year.

Decorating my study has got in the way of writing ...

Although projects have stemmed from the above;

NaNoWriMo provided me with the idea of a Sci-Fi Novel

A visit to my sister to see her and my new niece has provided me with an exciting new historical collaboration project which is in the very early stages

Back in October last year, I compiled a database of Literary Agent’s to submit my manuscript to. I have bitten the bullet this month with it being a new year and all and I have submitted my manuscript to four Agent’s.

Check out the amazing Literary Emporium here … a must for gifts for book lovers.

I will keep you posted with my progress.

My New Year starts from now and there will be no more excuses.
